Scholarship Programs

RHT Education assists international students to apply for scholarships to Chinese universities and colleges through our Study in China program. We assist students to apply for full and partial scholarships, dependent on individual circumstances.

A Chinese full scholarship covers tuition (or research) fees, medical Insurance for International Students, basic learning materials costs, accommodation, living allowance, a one-time settlement subsidy and one inter-city travel allowance. A partial scholarship includes at least one or some items of the full scholarship.

RHT Education’s Study in China scholarships are offered by some of the country’s greatest institutions and many of these universities and colleges. We have listed some options below as samples, however, we prefer to offer specific advice through counselling. Take a look and then follow the links to discuss your options with our staff.

Chinese Government Scholarships
One-off settlement subsidy: 1500; Living Allowance: 1700/month

Chinese Government Scholarships

In order to promote the mutual understanding, cooperation and exchanges in politics, economy, culture, education, and trade between China and other countries, the Chinese government has set up a series of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and research in Chinese universities. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as MOE), is responsible for the enrollment and administration of Chinese Government Scholarship programs. Academic programs of Science, Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Economics, Law, Management, Education, History, Literature, Philosophy and Arts in 252 designated Chinese universities are available to scholarship winners.

AMOUNT(RMB):

One-off settlement subsidy: 1500; Living Allowance: 1700/month

CONDITIONS(RMB):

For Science and Engineering: new HSK level 4;
For Arts: new HSK level 5.

GRANDUATION REQUIREMENTS:

For Science and Engineering: new HSK level 5;
For Arts: new HSK level 6.

Applicants with no command of Chinese are generally required to take Chinese language courses for 1 year before their major studies.

Ontario-Jiangsu Alliance
A scholarship of $2500(for one term) or $3000 (for two terms)

Ontario-Jiangsu Alliance

Jiangsu and the Canadian province of Ontario have enjoyed a friendly relationship since 1985.The OJS program is open to all students at participating Ontario universities, including international visa students. However, international visa students are not eligible for scholarship assistance as this assistance is reserved for Canadian students.

AMOUNT(RMB):

a. A scholarship of $2500(for one term) or $3000 (for two terms).
b. A scholarship of $3000 for the Summer Research Program.

CONDITIONS(RMB):

Priority admission to one of the OJS member institutions in Jiangsu.

Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship
A living allowance of CNY1,500 per month

Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship

Jiangsu Provincial Government has set up the "Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship" for international students in order to promote the development of higher education of International students in Jiangsu, to further improve the profile of Jiangsu Education to the world, to highlight the brand of "Study in Jiangsu" and to make Jiangsu a preferred province for international students to study in. This scholarship will be provided to those excellent overseas students or scholars to undertake full time study in universities and colleges of Jiangsu. It will also include those non-degree program students and exchange students in accordance with educational exchange agreements and MOUs between the Jiangsu Provincial Government and the governments of other states, institutions, universities and international organizations.

AMOUNT(RMB):

A living allowance of CNY1,500 per month

CONDITIONS(RMB):

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
2. Education background and age limit:
  ● Applicants for both the college and undergraduate programs must have a senior high school diploma with a good academic performance and be under the age of 30.
  ● Applicants for the master’s degree program must have a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
  ● Applicants for the doctoral degree program must have a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
3. Applicants must agree to obey the relevant laws of the PRC and meet the admission requirements of the host universities or colleges.
4. Applicants must have a good academic record.
5. Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships offered by Chinese government, local governments or other organizations simultaneously.

Nanjing Government Scholarship
20,000RMB/year for postgraduate and PHD students.

Nanjing Government Scholarship

The Nanjing Government Scholarship has been implemented from Sep, 2013.

AMOUNT(RMB):

a. 20,000RMB/year for postgraduate and PHD students
b. 10,000RMB/year for undergraduate student
c. 5000RMB/semester for non-degree students

CONDITIONS(RMB):

a. Be no more than 28 years as a undergraduate student, no more than 35 years as a postgraduate student, no more than 40 years as a PHD student;
b. the non-degree student should have obtained the bachelor degree;
c. have enjoyed neither other government scholarship nor Hohai full scholarship;
d. those who has certain Chinese language proficiency(HSK certificate provided) will enjoy the priority.

Confucius Institute Scholarship
CNY 1,400 for Undergraduate Students, One-Academic-Year Students and One-Semester Students. / CNY 1,700 for Master’s Degree Students.

Confucius Institute Scholarship

For the purpose of supporting the development of Confucius Institutes, facilitating international promotion of Chinese language and dissemination of Chinese culture, as well as cultivating qualified Chinese-language teachers and excellent Chinese-language learners, Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban (hereinafter referred to as Hanban) launches a “Confucius Institute Scholarship” program to sponsor foreign students, scholars and Chinese language teachers to study Chinese.

AMOUNT(RMB):

a. CNY 1,400 for Undergraduate Students, One-Academic-Year Students and One-Semester Students.
b. CNY 1,700 for Master’s Degree Students.

CONDITIONS(RMB):

A score of at least 180 on the HSK (level 5) and a score of at least 50 on the HSKK (intermediate level) and a written commitment stating that he/she will be engaged in Chinese language teaching for at least 5 years after graduation
